TAKE YOUR NEXT STEP

Water baptism is a public declaration of your personal decision to follow Jesus.

If you’ve never been baptized, we’d love to help you take that step!

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Simply stated: you are following Jesus’ example and obeying His command. We believe that Water Baptism is the next step for everyone who has made the decision to give their life to Jesus.

Acts 2:38 (ESV) And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

  • Water Baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward reality. It’s not what saves you; it’s a demonstration that you have already been saved and are a new creation in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

  • We practice baptism by immersion—going all the way under! In the Bible, it says that when Jesus was baptized in Matthew 3:16, He went up from the water, indicating that He had been under it. In Acts 8, there’s a story of a new Christian getting water baptized, and it says he “went down into the water and came up out of the water.” We believe that’s a clear indicator that baptism is meant to be done by immersion.

  • Water Baptism does not “wear off”. If you made the decision to accept Jesus into your heart and followed that with being water baptized, you don’t need to be baptized again. If you have concern that your faith was not genuine (whether that decision came as a child or an adult), you may consider being baptized again. Remember, however, that baptism neither saves you nor ensures your salvation. The Bible says in Romans 10:9-10 “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you’ll be saved.”

  • Yes! We believe Water Baptism is for anyone who has made the decision to give their life to Jesus. It is a celebration and symbol to everyone of that decision, and we encourage parents to partner with Victory Kids and Victory Students to guide your children through these decisions of faith.
