montessori & childcare center

Victory Montessori serves the community by caring for and teaching children 6 weeks through Kindergarten.

We offer a year-round traditional program for infants and toddlers and a Montessori program for children ages 3 (and potty trained) through Kindergarten which runs according to the Jefferson County school calendar. We are licensed by the Department of Social Services and have been operational since 1990.

programs

infants

Our infant staff provides a nurturing environment to meet the emotional, physical and spiritual development of the children. When the child is one year old and walking, eating table food and showing signs of toddler behavior they will be transitioned to the toddler room. Infants are on an “on demand” schedule concerning eating and sleeping needs. All food, bottles and formula are provided by the parents.

toddlers

We offer full time care in four toddler rooms which are separated by age groups. The toddler curriculum consists of age appropriate child development activities in the areas of sensory, fine motor and gross motor. Because the children are approaching a stage of autonomy, many activities are planned to enhance individuality and independence. Much care, consideration and concern is given to the children during this developmental stage.

potty training

Our two year old rooms are where children will begin potty training here at school. These classrooms are also designed to transition our toddlers into a Montessori atmosphere. Montessori concepts are introduced and the children in this class begin to choose their own activities. The children learn to sit in a group and not become distracted. They will participate in learning colors, shapes and returning work to its proper place. Practical life and other fine motor skills will be introduced (spooning & pouring). This is a great introduction to our Montessori program and allows your child to be prepared for their next stage of development.

montessori

Our Montessori classroom is a small multi-age classroom for up to 20 children, ages 3 years (potty trained) through Kindergarten. Our mornings start with the children in group time where we sing songs, listen to music and read stories. The current subjects of study are also discussed during this time, and new activities are presented. During work period, the children are free to choose a wide variety of activities such as:

  • Practical life: fine motor skills-eye/hand coordination through pouring and spooning

  • Art: projects and spontaneous

  • Math: using concrete materials and manipulatives

  • Language: preparation for reading and writing

  • Science: units of study

  • Music: instruments and singing

  • Geography: units of study

  • Sensorial: to refine the senses Manipulatives: puzzles and blocks

kindergarten

After lunch, the 5 year olds gather for our Montessori Kindergarten Program while the younger children nap. This time includes more advanced writing skills, detailed unit studies, advanced math, and advanced reading skills.

teachers & staff

The head teachers in all of our classrooms are certified by the state of Colorado. All teachers are Infant/Child CPR certified, first aid certified, and required to take a standard precautions class annually.

They also participate in additional Early Childhood Education trainings. Our goal is to provide a safe Christian environment that will meet the needs of your children and challenge them spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally. Each classroom has a strong early childhood basis and is developmentally appropriate for the age levels we serve.

“We LOVE Victory Montessori and so does our two-year old! He’s always excited to see his teachers and friends in the morning, and he’s constantly talking about what he did all day once he gets home at night because he had so much fun. The staff provides regular updates so we always know what he’s doing throughout the day. He’s learned a lot through the curriculum as well. We constantly hear him use new words and phrases that he learned at school. Can’t wait to send our infant there as well in the fall!”

“Victory has been such a blessing for my boys and our family. Like any parent, it is awful having to be away from your children several days per week, but the wonderful teachers and staff at Victory have been so kind, friendly and good to my boys. I have become friends with many of the teachers and have really enjoyed getting to know them.

They work hard and really try to accommodate as much as they can. I feel good knowing that when I can’t be with my kids they are in good hands having a good day that is educational, fun, and safe. I always recommend them whenever asked.”

“I have two kids that went here from 3 months old to Kindergarten. This place is amazing! Teachers here are wonderful and my kids thrived here. By 3-4, my son could name all 7 continents, knew how to do basic reading, and could count to 20 in Japanese. My daughter is also doing great and has really found a love for art. They have an Art ala Carte program that comes weekly (extra charge) that does wonders with hand eye coordination.”

“Great center, I’ve brought both my children here since 2013. Child ratio is low compared to other centers and the staff that work here many have been here for years. I enjoy working here and fully trust the staff with my children. The part I enjoy the most is that the children are learning while also experiencing the love of Jesus.”
