triggered - freedom is in forgiveness
December 12, 2021 | Matt Ware
We live in a world today that is easily TRIGGERED. And while Jesus warned us that in this life we would get TRIGGERED and offenses would come, you don’t have to stay in that place. In the TRIGGERED series, you’ll learn how to overcome offense, walk in forgiveness, and live light and free from the trap of offense.
Freedom Is In Forgiveness
TRIGGERED
Luke 17:1 (NKJV) It is impossible that no offenses should come
Luke 17:1, 3-4 (NKJV) It is impossible that no offenses should come … 3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
Freedom is in Forgiveness
1. Forgiveness is REQUIRED, not RECOMMENDED
Luke 6:37-38 (NKJV) Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
2. Forgiveness is GRANTED, not GAINED
Romans 12:19 (ESV) Vengeance is mine, I will repay.
Ephesians 4:32 (ESV) forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
3. Forgiveness is FAITH, not FEELING
Luke 17:5 (NKJV) the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
Luke 23:34 (ESV) Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
FREEDOM is in FORGIVENESS!
