Everybody loves a good comeback story, and one of the greatest of all time is David at Ziklag. In one day, he lost it all—his family, his home and his possessions. It was the greatest setback he had ever experienced. But by applying David’s response to our own situation, we can see how to turn the setback into THE COMEBACK!
Step 7: Reengage
Proverbs 24:16 (ESV) for the righteous falls seven times and rises again.
1 Samuel 30:17 (NKJV) Then David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled.
Ephesians 6:12 (ESV) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV) For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.
1. The Word of God
Ephesians 6:17 (ESV) the sword of the Spirit … is the word of God
2. The Name of Jesus
Philippians 2:9-10 (ESV) God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
3. The Blood of Jesus
Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
Hebrews 12:24 (ESV) the sprinkled blood (of Jesus) that speaks a better word.
