moses - wonders in the wilderness
June 28, 2020 | Matt Ware
Everyone goes through wilderness seasons in their lives, but MOSES was a wilderness expert! From 40 years alone in one wilderness to 40 years of leading Israel through another, his story shows us the power of the journey through the wilderness; it shapes us, develops us and forms us into the people God has called us to be. A look at the life of MOSES reveals that the wilderness isn’t something we just endure; it’s something we can embrace!
Wonders in the Wilderness
Exodus 14:9-10 (ESV) The Egyptians pursued them, all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them encamped at the sea … 10 When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord.
Exodus 13:18 (ESV) God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea.
Exodus 14:17-18 (ESV) I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen. 18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten glory.
Isaiah 46:10 (ESV) declaring the end from the beginning
Exodus 14:13-14 (ESV) “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today … 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”
1. Be STRONG
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2. Be STILL
3. Be SILENT
